Carbon Poker Review
Software: Carbon Poker is the parent site behind the Merge Gaming Network to whom they share their game traffic and player volume with. Merge Gaming is a fairly new network that was transformed from the old poker.com software. For a smaller sized network they have fantastic software and it’s easily comparable to the very popular poker rooms software such as PokerStars.
Carbon Poker’s software has many unique and innovative features that is beneficial to all poker players. A very popular feature built into the software is the ‘Deal it Twice’ option. If you have ever watched High Stakes Poker Cash Games on television you’ll notice players will often run two boards or put a new river and turn card up. This feature is only available when two players are playing No Limit Hold’em ring games, and they go all in pre-flop or post flop. Other unique features include Rabbit Hunting, resizeable tables, and expose one card.
The Carbon Poker lobby is up to date with all the industries latest innovations with well organized tabs that separate cash games, tournaments, and other areas of the poker client. For player’s convenience their current available balance is always visible in the top right corner of the lobby and is updated instantly after each table transaction. The cashier is built into the software/lobby and can be viewed from the top left “cashier” tab. From there players can view balances, deposit or withdrawal, transfer to another player, check comp points and view their account history.
The table layout is a bit congested in comparison to other poker rooms, although this is not a concern once you get comfortable. The tables graphics are very crisp and the colors are very friendly on the eyes. From the game table view players can chat, select preferred seating, view stats, hand histories and much more. The game play is very solid and moves at a quick pace. Multi-tablers will enjoy playing at Carbon with the quick pace and the ability to resize the tables to custom fit their monitors.
The statistics of players personal play is extremely advanced compared to other poker rooms. From the table view players can click ‘stats’ and then ‘more’ button and a screen with three tabs will pop up. The stats are shown are: Win: preflop, flop, turn, river, showdown and seen flops won percentages. Players can also view their percentages on each street when folding and stats are provided in percentages for how many times a player has folded, checked, called, bet, raised, re-raised, check-raised and completed.
